Financial Expert

Main Duties

  • Develop and monitor financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support Augvator’s growth phases.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, cash flow statements, and variance analyses for management and investors.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, payroll requirements, and statutory reporting (EI, CPP, corporate filings).
  • Support fundraising activities by preparing financial models, investment summaries, and grant application budgets.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for optimization and recommend strategies to improve financial sustainability.
  • Provide risk assessments and financial insights for decision-making related to product development, expansion, and scaling.
  • Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and funding agencies as required.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial documentation.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, auditing, or investment analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian financial regulations, tax compliance, and corporate reporting standards.
  • Experience in financial modeling and preparing reports for investors or grant agencies.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial management tools.
  • Ability to work part-time and independently while providing strategic financial advice to the executive team.
